December, 2013. NuDesign has made new production and eval releases of MIB Browsers, MIB Builder and SNMPv3 Agent Service for Windows product families. In addition to several functional enhancements, adjustments have been made to better accomodate operations under the MS Windows 8/8.1 OS’s.
July 15, 2013. NuDesign’s latest Visual MIBrowser Pro (rev 10.2 and up) provides for automation of SNMPv3 Agent’s configuration tasks, and it also improves events handling. Functions such as creation of new USM Users and their management can easily be accomplished using a new streamlined, create “USM User” facility. This release new events management capability supports configurable, multi-level, priority based audible alarm notifications associated with various events that MIBrowser can detect, such as communications errors, various analyzer events (like start/stop, first capture, buffer full), finally SNMP notifications and v3 reports. Feb. 13, 2013. NuDesign announces support for fastCGI in its embedded SNMP / HTTP Agent SDK libraries. Starting with release 10 all SDK’s containing HTTP support will support fastCGI to provide web access via 3rd party web servers. Any Linux / embedded RTOS IPv6 web server with support for fastCGI will suffice. Web servers such as Apache, NGINX, lighttpd and others can be configured to support existing web applications that worked with previous versions of NuDesign SDK’s.
January 31, 2013. Starting with release rev 5.1 NuDesign’s Visual MIB Builder provides for automatic conversion of SMIv2 MIB documents into RFC 6020 YANG documents. YANG is a data modeling language used to build configuration and state data models used by the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) protocol defined in RFC 6241 to remotely manipulate configurations and retrieve operational data of the device. Oct 1, 2012. Improved support of IPv6 standard in MIB Browser family of products is now available. The products add support for DNS, and IPv6z & IPv4z handling for InetAddress as defined by the InetAddress textual conventions.
June 26, 2012. New release of production and eval libraries of Desktop Linux SNMP Agent is now available in two versions: the 32 bit version working with 32 bit extension agents and the 64 bit product working with 64 bit extension agents and installable under 64 bit PC Linux. The SDK libraries provide now a new interface to control debug trace output on debug only builds.
June 13, 2012. Full production and eval releases of SNMP Manager Studio for Windows, and SNMP Manager Studio for Embedded Linux and RTOS’s have been made. The Windows and Linux version support 32bit and 64bit code. Visual xManagerBuilder 9 for C++, main component of the Studio is supported by the following host environments: Windows 7 / Vista / XP. The supported target environments are Windows 7 / Vista / XP, multiple distribution of Linux, including embedded Linux builds, and RTOS’s such as QNX Neutrino. Numerous sample code examples in C++ demonstrating typical management functions, such as Get Table, MIB Browser, SNMP Polling Engine, Trap handling and others are provided.
March 29, 2012. New release of MIB Browser family of products. A numerous improvements have been made in User Input / Presentation of data, for example special treatment for InetAddress during Set operation and presentation, use of MIB DISPLAY-HINT when available, improved handling of Get / Set functions in Tables, improved search and reporting in SNMP Traffic Analyzer component.
November 21, 2011. NuDesign releases version 9 of its Visual xAgentBuilder© for C++ (xAB9) wizard, C++ Code Generator for a standalone Windows SNMP Agent, SNMP extension DLLs or remote AgentX – rfc2741 subagents for NuDesign SNMPv3 Agent Service or MS SNMP Agent Service. The wizard is installed as a template under MS Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 IDE, under Windows Server 2003 & 2008, Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista 32 & 64 bit and Windows 7 32 & 64 bit host. NuDesign’s SNMP Agent products operate over IPv6 and IPv4 networks. The standalone SNMP Agent and extension DLLs are generated as two separate products: the 32 bit version working with 32 bit SNMP Service and installable under either 32 bit or 64 bit Windows and the 64 bit extension DLL’s working with 64 bit SNMP Service and installable only under 64 bit Windows.
August 17, 2011. NuDesign announces production support for QNX Neutrino 6.5 for x86, ARM, PPC and MIPS family of CPU’s, in its C++ SNMP Agent Studio for Embedded RTOS, SNMP Agent code generation development tool and SNMP SDK library product.
May 16, 2011. March 14, 2011. The production release of AgentX – rfc2741 libraries is available across NuDesign supported SNMP platforms, including NuDesign’s SNMPv3 Master Agent Service for Windows where it can be used to control a network of embedded devices equipped with AgentX remote subagents.
January 21, 2011. NuDesign upgrades its remote SNMP subagent capability across supported platforms. In addition to lightweight remote subagent based on UDP communications and SNMP BER encoding, the IETF Agent Extensibility (AgentX) standard, based on rfc2741 is now supported as well. August 24, 2010. NuDesign releases its SNMPv3 Agent Service for MS Windows, Version 9.0, with full “SNMP over IPv6” support. The 30 days free eval of the product is available at NuDesign’s SNMP evaluation software download page.
March 15, 2010. NuDesign announces availability of its SNMPv3 over IPv6 / IPv4 libraries. The initial IPv6 support is extended to Windows, Linux and QNX environments. March 5, 2010. NuDesign announces new releases of its Visual SNMP Manager Studio and MIB Compiler products. An xManager built application, in addition to incorporating MIBs at design time, now provides functionality to dynamically read pre-compiled MIB files in runtime mode. Numerous source code Samples and Quick Start tutorials demonstrate development of SNMP Manager application for Windows and / or embedded environments.
February 25, 2010. NuDesign has acquired third party SNMP Agent tester product and is using it as part of its own comprehensive validation process in order to speed up its customers SNMP development cycle.

February 16, 2009. SNMP Middle Layer Manager (MLM) Server software has been released. The MLM Server acts as a local domain SNMP Manager, it collects vital local stats in its own MIB objects, provides for local notification processing and selective forwarding to the main NOC center. It periodically stores the collected data in the SQL database for future analysis, reporting, archiving and long term trends applications.
June 20, 2008. NuDesign announces that the SNMPv3 Authentication Bypass Vulnerability uncovered by the NetSNMP community, and discussed by the US-CERT US Computer Emergency Readiness Team as Technical Cyber Security Alert TA08-162A does not affect the NuDesign SNMPv3 stack.
April 14, 2008. NuDesign announces the availability of Visual SNMP Manager. This product is based on our Visual MIB Browser Pro and it additionally provides capability for user generated management plug-ins. Its Device Management Tab provides device management capabilities. It builds a tree of networks and devices, and enables management of alarms. It is an OEM-able SNMP application for device manufacturers that want to ship a practical management station to their customers. NuDesign can design the customer’s product specific plug-ins or the customer can do the plug-in themselves.
March 24, 2008. NuDesign provides improved web access support within its Visual xAgentBuilder for C++, SNMP Agent code generator product family for desktop or embedded targets. The SSI based support enables easy custom modifications of auto generated web pages.
February 25, 2008. NuDesign announces the availability of the next generation of its CLI Code Generation Framework. The Visual xCLI Builder enables creation of hierarchical CLI interfaces that provides for runtime configurability, and Cisco like or Juniper like, style of command structures. Password protected, multi-level access management is fully supported. The SSI interface is provided to enable web access to CLI commands.

November 19, 2007. October 8, 2007. NuDesign has extended availability of Visual xCLI Builder tool and CLI SDK libraries to multiple Linux distributions. The developer creates the CLI configuration and operational commands hierarchy using a Visual wizard, then selects the target environment and gets the sources and project files automatically generated.
August 20, 2007. NuDesign announces availability of Visual xAgentBuilder for AFDX© (Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet). The NuDesign’s SNMP Agent building tools and libraries are now available to build AFDX© / ARINC664 avionics network compatible SNMP Agents. March 26, 2007. NuDesign announces availability of CLI Code Generation Framework. The framework implements command hierarchy navigation, command completion, command line editing, history, and a basic set of common commands. The framework makes it very easy to extend and customize the CLI for device configuration. NuDesign’s CLI solution can operate as the only management agent for the embedded device or it can be deployed with NuDesign’s SNMP Agent to provide serial access to SNMP MIB(s) implementation.

November 6, 2006. August 28, 2006. NuDesign adds the AES Privacy Protocol, the Advanced Encryption Standard for 128 bit keys to its SNMP v3 products. The AES Privacy Protocol, conforming with RFC3826 is available now, along with the Data Encryption Standard (DES) to perform the privacy encrypting functions of the SNMP v3 operation across NuDesign’s family of SNMP products.
April 24, 2006. NuDesign releases updated Visual Embedded xAgentBuilder for C++, its embedded SNMP Agent code and project generation wizard and a number of SNMPv3 SDK Libraries for embedded Linux. Currently supported CPU’s include Power PC, XScale, ARM, MIPS and x86 architectures.
December 15, 2005. NuDesign has released the Remote Subagent support for its SNMP Agent code generator, Visual xAgentBuilder for C++, starting with Revision 7.0. The Remote Subagent architecture provides for registration of subagents, running in a separate processes, and their communication with the Extensible Master Agent. The Visual xAgentBuilder for C++ completely automates the process, just tick-off the Remote Subagent box in the wizard and your MIB’s subagent is created and ready to use using NuDesign’s Remote Subagent classes.
November 28, 2005. Starting with release 6.0 of Visual MIB Browser Pro, SNMPv3 Management Application, NuDesign adds three significant SNMP development tools to the product. First is the SNMP Traffic Monitoring and Analysis function providing capability to capture, filter, decode and present the SNMP packets in a “human readable form”. Second is the SNMP CLI interface providing for raw, user defined access to any OID. Third is a two step, automated testing of SNMP Agent MIB’s implementations, controlled by the MIB Browser’s VB script and NuDesign’s MIB Compiler. First step auto-finds MIB modules implemented by the agent, second step invokes pre-canned tests that verify accuracy and completeness of your SNMP Agent’s MIB implementation. It automatically generates test reports. The MIB module compliance testing complements your custom VB based test scripts that you may have already developed for NuDesign’s MIBrowser Pro. September 26, 2005. NuDesign has announced beta testing phase for its new Visual SNMP Traffic Monitor, an easy to use Windows application that allows developer to monitor the SNMP exchanges, including the SNMPv3 traffic, down to the level that it has permissions for. The Traffic Monitor aids in debugging of difficult development and / or configuration problems, helping pinpoint their source. July 30, 2003. Developers of SNMPv3 Management and Test Applications, take note. NuDesign has released a comprehensive SNMPv3 functionality in the form of an ActiveX Control. It supports all SNMP commands (Get, GetNext, Set, GetBulk) as well as ability to send and receive all SNMP notifications including traps, v2 traps and informs. The free eval contains Control, sample programs in C++ and VB and the Help file documenting technical aspects of the SNMPv3 Control.
June 30, 2003. NuDesign releases its Visual MIBrowser Pro to production. In addition to full support for SNMPv3 this MIB Browser adds sophisticated handling of MIB files, VB scripting capability with examples of use in SNMP environment, programmable thresholds and alarm generation, received trap presentation and database storage for post processing and reporting.
The product’s variant, Visual MIBrowser Pro for HMS is designed to support SCTE’s HMS cable plant management standard and serves as a basic HMS SNMP Manager, supporting HMS MIBs and decoding HMS specific SNMP Traps and Notifications. July 29, 2002. Next generation MIB Compiler Control has been released to production. The Control resolves Import dependencies of MIBs in a selected directory and automatically loads required “import” MIBs while loading the user selected MIB.
February 18, 2002. With regards to the CERT posted security advisory about SNMPv1 vulnerabilities: NuDesign has reproduced the problem in its SNMP Agent and SNMP Trap receiving products.
