Jan – Oct, 2022.   It has been a busy 10 months. Our ndCONF Agent Development Studio and its Eval benefitted from our ever continuing development program, strengthened by the customers’ feedback. Several improvements have been made in the NETCONF / RESTCONF libraries. The ndCONF Builder, a generator of YANG Datastore Server’s extension modules has been improved again and verified against a large set of YANG modules. Support for features, like YANG Patch has been released, while others, like Call Home and more, are in a final validation cycle, primed for releases before the year’s end.

Big news?, we are making ndCONF Studio available to our customers via an attractive subscription pricing model, in addition to the present buy-out model. You can now obtain all development tools and binary SDK’s with a full technical support as an Annual Development Subscription License. Only when you start shipping your product, our Annual Production Subscription License kicks in, and it includes Unlimited Runtimes assigned to a specific Product Line. Request more information or your ndCONF Eval at contact@ndt-inc.com.

Our key SNMPv3 offering, the SNMPv3 Service for Windows, is a drop-in replacement of Windows’ native SNMPv1/v2c Service component and has seen two releases in this period, improving its diagnostics, event logging capabilities and handling of several “corner cases”, including handling of MIB walking with a variety of 3rd party extension DLLs. It is now easier to install and configure in the remote Mass Install scenarios, please see our Application Note and the Service’s new Help file.

A comprehensive technical coverage of SNMPv3 in Windows (including SNMPv3 in Windows 11) is also provided by “Tech with Jasmin” blog at https://lnkd.in/gz3FK5k. Thank you!

November 30, 2021.   The new releases of NuDesign’s ndCONF Agent Development Studio and its Eval version are now available. The Studio provides for the development of a YANG Datastore Server with YANG-based standard and custom extensions, and remote NETCONF / RESTCONF / SNMP protocols access.

The NETCONF access, in addition to SSH username/password-based security, adds support for mutual, X.509 Certificate-based, NETCONF session authentication. The ndCONF Studio implements the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol communications between the NETCONF Access Agent of a YANG Datastore Server and the remote NETCONF Clients. Additionally, support for retrieval of user group information from an external RADIUS Server has been added. This mechanism simplifies the configuration of NETCONF’s NACM access control for multiple devices, by providing a common, server-based solution. Currently, this provision applies to RESTCONF access only.

Numerous improvements have also been made to the ndCONF Builder, a source code generator of YANG-based, dynamic extensions to the YANG Datastore Server, a crucial development tool providing for rapid development of new ndCONF Agent capabilities, as well as securing a continuing NETCONF standard compliance. Each ndCONF Builder release is preceded by a rigorous validation testing, against a large set of IETF and OpenConfig standards YANG modules. Request a copy of the ndCONF Studio Eval at contact@ndt-inc.com.

May 26, 2021.   The latest releases of NuDesign’s ndCONF Agent Development Studio and ndCONF Studio Eval are now available. These releases add rfc5277 compliant, NETCONF / SNMP / SYSLOG and Custom Streams support. They further improve and simplify the addition of custom, web based applications. These applications communicate with the ndCONF YANG Datastore through the RESTCONF Access Agent.

The ndCONF Studio also provides strong support for SNMP legacy systems that require addition of NETCONF / YANG interface. The development tools translate proprietary MIBs into YANG modules and provide for the re-use of SNMP legacy instrumentation in a new, integrated, NETCONF / RESTCONF / SNMP YANG Agent. Request ndCONF Studio Eval at contact@ndt-inc.com.

November 27, 2020.  Checkout a new release of ndCONF Agent Development Studio, it updates NuDesign’s NETCONF / YANG-based Agent building tools and SDK libraries for Linux.

The new release allows for the separation of ndCONF code and vendor-specific embedded applications, making the design process and software updates easy to manage. In postCommit phase the software architecture provides for vendor’s embedded applications to have final control over the new configuration values, enabling additional, product-specific check of configuration integrity. The RESTCONF interface, with its support of JSON encoding and notification streaming, makes the web-based management applications easier to write.

The ndCONF Agent Development Studio targets developers of 5G or LTE systems, aiming at providing an automation platform for their programmable networks via the deployment of NETCONF / YANG-based declarative configuration capabilities. Request ndCONF Studio Eval at contact@ndt-inc.com.

Virtual interfaces need not be active at start up, but will be added to the bound service endpoints, when they do become active. These interfaces can be associated with Windows Server’s list of redundant “Server Application Roles” that get enabled if a primary Server for such an “Application Role” goes down.

May 28, 2018. NuDesign has released rev. 14 of its SNMPv3 Agent Service for Linux. The new version can run in SNMPv3-FIPS140 mode, in addition to its existing SNMPv3 mode. This new mode restricts the use of OpenSSL rev1.1.x crypto modules to only those that are compliant with FIPS-140 standard (United States Federal Information Processing Standard 140, that defines cryptographic algorithms approved for use by US Federal government computer systems for the protection of sensitive data).

May 23, 2018. NuDesign has released rev. 14 of its SNMPv3 Agent Service for Windows. The new version can now run in SNMPv3-FIPS140 mode, in addition to its existing SNMPv3 mode. This new mode restricts the use of Windows’ crypto DLLs to only those that are compliant with FIPS-140 standard (United States Federal Information Processing Standard 140, that defines cryptographic algorithms approved for use by US Federal government computer systems for the protection of sensitive data).

Support for SNMPv3-FIPS140 mode has not been extended to Windows XP / Server 2003 in the new rev 14 of SNMPv3 Agent Service. For XP/2003 users we continue to provide and maintain SNMPv3 Agent Service rev 13.x that supports all Windows OS’es (including XP/2003) with its existing SNMPv3 mode. This version (rev 13.x) uses Windows’ Enhanced Cryptographic Provider (RSAENH) utilizing both, FIPS and non-FIPS compliant crypto DLLs.

Currently, three Access Agents (AA’s) are coupled with the core YANG Demo Agent; NetCONF, SNMP and a basic CLI. This architecture also includes a Web AA, to be released soon. The Access Agents, together with the core YANG Demo Agent, constitute a complete multiprotocol, integrated NetCONF/SNMP/CLI/Web Management Agent, demonstrating functionality, integration and synchronization of operations on the XML Data Store from different remote management applications. If you also need a SNMPv3 client app, please download our eval of SNMPv3 MIBrowser Pro.

The purpose of this Demo is to invite our SNMP and CLI products, customers, and all interested developers of management software to experiment with our integrated NETCONF / SNMP / CLI / Web technology before we release a full suite of development tools providing YANG code generation framework, SDK libraries, Access Agents and other tools to enable development of specific embedded YANG Agents modelling our customers own products. We believe that the flexibility of providing support for all these management interfaces is key to successful product deployment in environments that already have established management applications such as SNMP but are or will be adding NETCONF application capabilities for its standardized configuration management features.
